Overview
Ihsan (“we”, “the app”) is designed with privacy at its core. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to our servers. This policy explains what data the app uses and where it stays.
No account, no tracking
You do not need to create an account to use Ihsan. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising networks, or any SDKs that send data off your device. We do not track your behaviour or identity.
Data stored on your device
All data the app needs is stored locally on your device (using iOS UserDefaults and on-device storage). This includes:
- Your prayer calculation preferences (e.g. calculation method, location)
- Prayer completion history (for tracking and insights)
- Notification settings and location preferences
- Recent locations you have selected (e.g. for travel)
- Subscription status (handled by Apple via StoreKit)
None of this data is sent to us or any third party. It never leaves your device unless you delete the app (in which case it is removed with the app).
Location
Ihsan uses your device’s location only to calculate accurate prayer times and Qibla direction for where you are. Location is used on-device only. We do not receive, store, or transmit your location to our servers or anyone else.
Camera
If you use the AR Qibla feature, the app uses the camera to show the Qibla direction in the real world. Camera access is used only for this feature. No images or video are recorded, stored, or transmitted.
Purchases
If you subscribe to Ihsan Pro, payment is processed entirely by Apple (StoreKit). We do not see or store your payment details. Apple’s privacy policy applies to purchase and subscription data.
Changes to this policy
If we update this privacy policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. We do not reduce your rights under this policy without your consent.
